Dear aunty,
you have teached a lot over the topic „how do children learn“ and you have explained us about three categories:
 playing and exploring
 active learning
 creating and thinking critically
though which we came to know about the following
• Taking an interest
• Being involved
• Persisting with difficulty
• Expressing an idea or a feeling
• Taking responsibility
You’ve explained all these and also showed some photos. We were able to understand the differences between German children and Indian children. You shared with us about your students mind set both in a negative and positive view. In learning every student must have unique resilient, capability and confidence. You have understood one mindset and taught us in the way in which we like.
On the 14.01.2016 you have teached us four guiding principals in early years setting:
• every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured;
• children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships;
• children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers; and
• children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision, including children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Needs time – being concentrated
Needs time – being not interrupted
Needs to be in time all together
With the relationship from which we have learnt from your behavier should be for example from one exercise. I’ve learnt to create concentration. On the same day afternoon, we’ve learnt mathematics and also played Round number game using ball and chart paper. This is an interesting game and will be useful for children to learn mathematics. You’ve also educated number games in stairs by counting step by step.
On the 10.01.2016 you have taught us that brain development happens at womb and also brain structure and their functions neuron system with all senses such as hearing, taste, smell, touch, seeing etc. You’ve explained us everything with correct examples, which was easy for us to understand and made us to listen the class eagerly.
On 20.02.2016 not only about brain development, you have also taught us about the hemisphere; left side is used for speech, logical thinking etc.; right side controls and feelings, emotions and creativity. Next to that, you have divided us in two groups and asked us to draw creative faces. We have drawn as per our own ideas by which we understood the touch of art and have some creative ideas. We, with all the learning children had an enthusiasm learning something new. At the end of the class you gave us two homework.
First Step:
“We use the color box:
You take three things with the color you have choosen.
You describe the materials of the things in the way you can feel it. Which kind of quality is it? – you write in Tamil and in English.”
Second step:
“You create on yourselve a little box/bag with material to develop one sense.
You write how to use this material in the creche or in a class in English and in Tamil.”
On 24.1.2016 evening we submitted our homework. On 25.1.2016 evening we presented it. We did it with interest and great enjoyment and confidence that we can.
I explained mathematics with color – sense of seeing.
On 31.1.2016 the teachers of Kiruba centers attended the meeting and they learnt a lot from our presentation. We explained them the games, which that aunty taught us to them in a different way with slight variations.
Such and everything aunty taught us gave interest for us to learn and know new things.
Above all we were happy and the class was interesting.
